Robo Cup Soccer Challenge In India At IIT Kharagpur

It is going to held for the first time in India in association with the International RoboCup Federation.

The RoboCup Challenge would not only prove to be a giant leap for India in Robotics and AI research , it would also lead to the advent of many new technologies developed in the process of developing intelligent robots for the highly dynamic environment of Soccer. I am appealing Students, Researchers and Robotics enthusiasts to join Robo Cup 2009 at Indian Institute of Kharagpur.

New people in this field might be thinking about, what is Robo Cup ? You can simply say that it a World Cup of Soccer match between Robots. The (AI) Artificially Intelligent robots made by you or your team will play Soccer with the other team. In this wide range of technology will be integrated.

In order for a robot team to actually perform a soccer game, various technologies must be incorporated including: design principles of autonomous agents, multi-agent collaboration, strategy acquisition, real-time reasoning, robotics, and sensor-fusion. RoboCup is a task for a team of multiple fast-moving robots under a dynamic environment. RoboCup also offers a software platform for research on the software aspects of RoboCup.

International Robocup Federation is an international joint project to promote AI, robotics, and related field. RoboCup chose to use soccer game as a central topic of research, aiming at innovations to be applied for socially significant problems and industries. The ultimate goal of the RoboCup project is By 2050, develop a team of fully autonomous humanoid robots that can win against the human world champion team in soccer.

BVK: so what advanced you are looking for ?

Himan: i want 2-3 channel controller..... r/c plane... or helicopter with petrol or ethanol or kerosene engine, because battery cant generate more power..........pitch, heading and roll control.. etc.

BVK: thats true, but you can try to make Engines which will run on Bio Natural GAS.apply your auto skills

Himan: for what ? for r/c plane?

BVK: may be for helicopter or commercial purpose.

Himan: Ya its very easy but not still commercial. Currently i am working to develop domestic wind mill to generate electricity..... many people told me that wind generator is Commercial but its not Domestic.

BVK: wow, that is very good idea.

BVK: in few years availability of petrol and its derivatives will reduce and Aircraft fair will increase.

Himan: u see the feature of the airplane is one and only Nuclear Fuels......

BVK: aaah

Himan: the combination of wind mill and solar energy is good for a family to become energy free... wind mill is commercial but not domestic....... i want it to make domestic........

BVK: hmmm....... I was having plan for that too but no way for me to do.

BVK: that is more about energy conservation & utilization for domestic purpose..

BVK: every equipment you invent or manufacture, that needs energy. And you want energy to get stored

& the only option is battery

BVK: & that needs maintenance or replacement after some time

BVK: thats is costing more than your average saving on energy

BVK: so there should be less expensive storage system for energy..

BVK: or direct utilization at the same time

so that need constant source & powerfully converter

BVK: so the exactly you have in nature is, water - oxygen / hydrogen-sunlight

Himan: in country like India ever day 3-4 hrs power cut is going on .... than what to do for this?

BVK: so have to make powerful converter for such kind of sources.. I mean natural sources

BVK: if you have observed then you will see, wind do not remain constant throughout the day

thats will be only for 3 hrs. max. then it changes its direction & speed too

Himan: ya u can say only 3-4 hrs

BVK: so you can store hardly 1 hrs. of energy

Himan: so u have to store the energy, here again.

BVK: so what about 23 hrs !! ???

Himan: and sun is only for 4-6 hrs

than what to do >>>>>>>>>

BVK: if you take 6 hrs that will give you 2 hrs of energy

Himan: You mean to say that, we should use the energy directly after generation.. and avoid the storing of energy.

BVK: so thats the reason we need some powerful converter by which we do not have to store energy & we can utilize at the same time of generations. so not to Store, directly to utilize

it means we have 6 hrs of sunlight then we should utilize that at the same time for 6 hrs directly

for that purpose we need powerful converter.

Himan: ya yar .. it is impossible for every body to utilise at the same time . it is not convenient ..... than what about night. what the converter will do

BVK: have water, oxygen

in night what do you required to do ? what you do in Night & for what purpose you required light ?

in Night? if you go against nature nature will rual against you thats the fact of life.

Himan: ok ok

BVK: kuch samja kya ?

Himan: ya

the only solution for that i think is the water and bio gas and some other fuel based combined electricity generator. when ever you require you switch it ON than switch it OFF (switching ON it will start generating Electricity and by switching OFF it will stop generating Electricity.). ok and no need for storage......Good ?

We are doing a new imagination of an Invention.

BVK: hamm so just for switching ON & OFF we will generate Electricity and will not require Battery.., storage is good idea but not as a primary function.

BVK: chal aata hu,

Himan: ya it will not store energy in direct (primary function) form...... but it will store water and bio and some fuel for generating energy as per requirement........ and not storing energy directly....

conserv energy as much as possible........ live your life as simple as possible... and in natural way.

Now here IIT Kharagpur is organising a Robotics competition through its society called TRS, (Technology Robotix Society). It is a mega challenge for the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence experts.

So don't miss the chance for being their. It is going to attract the intelligents from across the country as well as from around the globe. Its a annual robotics competition held during KSHITIJ at IIT Kharagpur, which is now the largest of its kind in India. In the last year with more than 2500 participants, 1200 teams, 11 international teams and prizes worth over 2 lakhs ware the attraction.

The competition is going to held from 29 January 1 February 2009.

1) FramED9211

Consider a video of cars passing by one at a time with different speeds. You need to submit a code to enclose the number plate of the cars which have been reported to be speeding, in a box and relay the plate numbers. See more details at http://robotix.in/acc_framed

2) Μmouse4D

The task of the event is to write the code for a robot which can traverse a maze and reach its centre in the quickest possible time. The code of the robot will be simulated in Microsoft Robotics Studio.

3) 8Mile

To make an autonomous guided vehicle which can navigate on a road, stopping at zebra-crossing, following traffic lights and reaching an end point. See more details at http://robotix.in/acc_8mile

4) 12DoorsDown

The man lost in the dungeons … the rescue commando… together they search their way out… Can u help????

Just make one autonomous and one manual robot such that the manual bot guides the autonomous bot out of a square grid of cells, covering a specified number of checkpoints,and reaches the end point. See more details at http://robotix.in/acc_12dd

5) wEDGED 

The robot has to climb up an inclined wedge and it has to check its skin from two pendulums which will be oscillating over the wedge. And now the most interesting part- It has to jump off the wedge with the help of a swing!The bot has to land on a rectangular block C and run quickly into its victory zone.

6) #mEsh

It gets pretty closer to what you must have seen in movies related to Army, wherein soldiers are made to perform various climbing tasks as a part of training activity.

The only difference here is you will be building a manually controlled robot capable of climbing and descending a metallic mesh in the similar fashion like a soldier.

Kshitij hosts a galaxy of events. Kshitij (means Horizon in Hindi Language) is the annual techno-management fest of IIT Kharagpur. They are presented with an opportunity to use their skills and expertise in the fields of science, technology and management. Students share knowledge and information and also get a good amount of exposure to today's fast moving and competitive world.

Kshitij '08 Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) Kharagpur, was a huge success with about 3,500 outstation students coming in from different corners of the country. The creme de la creme were enthralled by thought-provoking speeches by Co- Founder of Wikipedia Mr. Jimmy Donal Wales, The father of Nano-Technology Mr. Eric Drexler , A world famous theoretical physicist and author of the bestseller 'Physics of Star-trek' ,Prof. Lawrence M. Krauss. There was also a video conference by Nobel Laureate in Chemistry for genetic information transfer from DNA to RNA, Prof. Roger D Kornberg. The participants were captivated by interactive guest lecture from Mr. Dilip Chhabria, the famous car designer.

Lenovo M730 All In One Printer Drivers For Windows Vista

If you bought a Lenovo  All In One Print, Scan, Copy M730 printer, than their is a chance of getting a CD inside the printer box. The CD your get with the Lenovo All In One Printer M730, contains the softwares for "Lenovo all in one center", "Lenovo Imaging studio", "Lenovo Photo Editor" and the drivers for Windows XP.

This Lenovo CD contains the drivers for the Lenovo M730 All In Printer for the Windows XP. In short the drivers you are getting into the CD for Lenove All In One Printer M730 will only work on the windows XP.

Now the problem starts here, think if you are a Windows Vista user or what happen if you are really Windows Vista user and you install this CD. If you install this Lenovo M730 Windows XP drivers on your Windows Vista PC, than their is a chance of getting hanged, your PC will not response for switching OFF as well for switching ON. This is not my assumption, this is the problem I practically faced with my laptop having Windows Vista. At last I end up with the formatting of my laptop and installing new Windows Vista service pack.

So beware of installing Lenove All In One Printer M730 CD which came with your printer on Windows Vista OS. Whereas you can install the Lenovo All In One Printer M730 CD which comes with your printer on Windows XP and that will work fine.
