Mission Moon Programs

Hi Science Freaks;

As I Posted in my last post about the Moon Mission Of India.

Here is a Quick Post of the Mission Moon Of India, Chandrayaan-1

Through PSLV-C11 the Moon craft (Chandrayaan-1) weigh 523 Kg. get launched into the 240 by 36000 Kilometer Orbit. This orbit is known as “Geosynchronous orbit (GTO)”, than the distance of Chandrayaan-1 will be increased.

The Chandrayaan-1 will rotate in elliptical orbit to the earth, this orbit is known as “Elliptical Transfer Orbit” (ETO). In this ETO when Chandrayaan-1 will be near to Earth than a rocket will be fired, and this will put the Chandrayaan-1 in the Moon’s orbit (Near to Moon).

At first Chandrayaan-1 will move at the distance of 1000 Km. from the Moon in a orbit. In this orbit Solar panels will open & will start powering and charging the batteries of Chandrayaan-1, slowly the distance will be reduced up to 100 Km. from the Moon.

Chandrayaan-1 will work around 2 Years, for the purpose.

Chandrayaan-1 is having an Impactor of 45 Kg. This Impactor will impact the Moon for further investigation of Moon along with the Flag Of India.

Thus the Flag of India will be waved on the Moon.

On 8th November 2008 the Chandrayaan-1 will get inserted into the orbit of the Moon.

On 15th November 2008 the Chandrayaan-1 will get start orbiting into the last decided orbit of the Moon.

You can have More Details on my last post about Chandrayaan-1 on below link.
