I am happy because now I can write mails in my own Indian language…. In Gmail(Google mail service), now I can write to my dad and family in my own Hindi (an Indian language) language. It become very easy to type in Hindi now in Gmail.
If you want to type in Indian language in Gmail, than while typing(Composing) new mails in gmail you see for a icon showing an Indian language character. This feature is enabled by default for Gmail users in India. If you do not see this function enabled by default, you will need to go the Settings and enable it in language section.
Procedure for typing in Indian language is simple, you click the icon(showing Indian language character) at LH side of your compose window, you can type words the way they sound in English and Gmail will automatically convert the word to its Indian local language equivalent. For example, if a Hindi speaker types "namaste" Google will transliterate this to "नमस्ते." Similarly, "vanakkam" in Tamil will become "வணக்கம்." Gmail currently support five Indian languages -- Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. You can select the language of your choice from the drop-down list next to the icon. This seems little difficult at first time, remember practice makes man perfect.
